Business Strategy

Meet Susan

What makes a good strategist?

Problem Solving.

Susan started her career in corporate business (Industrial Sector) when technology was rapidly changing, and, as a result, she developed a fast learning technique and the ability to problem-solve and self-teach. She contributed to bringing new products to market using digital technologies. The process included researching the need, identifying the target markets, and creating a strategy.

In 2009, she took a position in business development at the Julien House Society, a non-profit society. Her role was to support the Executive Director in increasing revenue and bed-based services for women. She was promoted to Executive Director at Westminster House (formerly Julien House Society) in 2015.

Susan facilitated projects and implemented programs and services to support youth and women. She led her team to demonstrate a commitment to continuously improve services and manage risk, achieving CARF accreditation. She developed information and operational management systems, including client and patient management and human resources management, and successfully implemented learning and development planning.

Susan has demonstrated business development expertise and leadership. Westminster House grew by 400% over 12 years during her leadership roles. This was due to her marketing skills, grant writing, strategic planning and relationship-building that included fostering important relationships with municipal, provincial, and federal political leaders, key stakeholders, and the community across Canada.
